"TeamMates of Bennington is looking to add to our TEAM at Pine Creek Elementary School. Do you have 30 minutes a week to make an impact in our school? We have a goal to add 10 Mentors to our building in 10 Weeks and all we need is 30 free minutes over lunch. You don't need to be an expert, just show up for a student and we take care of the rest. Here is how you can help:
1. Apply to become a Mentor at teammates.org (or scan the QR code to go right to the application)
2. Nominate an adult family member or friend to become a Mentor using this link:
TeamMates of Bennington has a goal to serve 100 Mentoring Matches this school year and we can't wait to add to our Team of dedicated Mentors!"

BPS is introducing Remote Education Days this year to ensure learning continues smoothly, even during weather-related school closures. These days count as regular instruction and are essential for keeping our school calendar, including the final day of school, on track. Elementary students will receive printed learning materials today, November 14. Please place this Remote Education Packet in a safe place, as it is designed to be used only if we have more than two weather-related closure days. Should these materials be needed, we will send a specific email reminder.

In the coming weeks, students will take part in a brief “Trusted Adult Inventory.” This activity helps ensure each child can identify at least one supportive adult they feel comfortable turning to at school. Our goal is to continue building a safe, connected community where every students feel supported. Thank you for partnering with us to nurture these important relationships.

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month. Please follow their Facebook page at PineCreekPTO and their newsletter for updates and events.

This week we received our picture books but we are still waiting to receive our chapter books. These are at the publisher and will be "hot off the presses". Thank you for your patience and we will get them to the students as soon as they arrive.

We are so grateful for all the amazing photos you send us! They truly help us capture special moments throughout the year. We kindly ask for your help in streamlining the process. Please select only the very best photos when submitting, instead of sending multiple, very similar shots. This small step makes a big difference in the time it takes for us to sort and organize everything! Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!

Pine Creek will have many opportunities to volunteer and assist our wonderful staff and students! No need to reapply if you completed this paperwork last year. In order for family members to volunteer they must complete the volunteer application process. There are multiple levels for which families can volunteer. There are different expectations and procedures for each level. The levels are:
- Level I: NO contact with children, working in areas such as the office, but not directly with any children.
- Level II: This level works with children but in a supervised manner. This would include opportunities such as being a room parent, lunchroom parent volunteer, classroom presentations from parents, or with the book fair. Parents will complete the application process but will NOT have a background check. This is for volunteers who will NOT be left unsupervised with children.
- Level III: This is for field trip volunteers. Any volunteer that may be alone with children will first complete the application process and then have a background check by the district. Level III applications need to be submitted to the school office a minimum of two weeks prior to the field trip to ensure ample time for a background check to be completed.
As you start looking ahead, it may be of benefit for you to complete this process if you have a desire to be a room parent or accompany the class on a field trip.
We would love to have as many volunteers covered and ready to go to properly be prepared for anything or any activity our classrooms may be doing in the future. Now is the time to get prepared for the wonderful activities we have planned throughout the school year.
All applications must be submitted to the Pine Creek Elementary office and must have an official signature of the person applying to be a volunteer. Attached is the volunteer application.
